When it comes to applying for the Canada Startup Visa program, applicants must meet all the following four key eligibility requirements:

Business Viability:

Innovative Business Idea: Have a business idea that is new, innovative, and has the potential to create jobs for Canadians.

Ownership Requirements: Control at least 10% of the voting rights attached to all shares of the corporation outstanding at that time (up to 5 people can apply as owners).

Letter of Support from a Designated Entity:

Designated Organizations: Secure a letter of support from a designated organization (a venture capital fund, angel investor group, or business incubator).

Investment Requirement: If applying through a venture capital fund, you must secure at least CAD 200,000 investment; through an angel investor group, secure at least CAD 75,000 investment.

Language Proficiency:

Minimum Language Requirement: Meet the minimum language requirements of the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 5 in either English or French.

Certified Language Test: Provide test results from an approved agency to show you meet the minimum language requirement.

Sufficient Settlement Funds:

Proof of Funds: Demonstrate that you have enough money to settle and support yourself and your family in Canada. The amount required is determined by the size of your family and is updated annually.

Accessible and Unencumbered Funds: Ensure that funds are readily available and not tied up in assets or business ventures.
